Did you know that Vincennes was founded in 1732 as a French fur trading outpost? It is the oldest city in Indiana, was the site of an important Revolutionary War battle, and was the home of a U.S. President. Vincennes is often referred to as the "Washington D.C. of the Midwest", and was once the center of frontier government for our young nation. Don't just read about American history, visit our historic sites and re-enactments and experience our nation's past! Each of these hour-long learning events features a short video followed by an interactive session led by Frank Doughman, Chief Ranger of the George Rogers Clark National Memorial Park. The events are geared particularly to fourth-grade students in Indiana.
