COLLEGE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
How to Use the Core Transfer Library (CTL)
1. Log on to
www.transferin.net to access the CTL.
2. Click on 'High School Students'
3. Select CTL from the dropdown menu
4. View courses by CTL name (if you need the CTL name,
reference the
CAP
Course Crosswalk)
5. Select the course CTL name.
For example, USI's ENG 101, Rhetoric and Composition I:
Literacy & the Self equals the CTL's English Composition I.
Different institutions give their courses unique names. The
CTL assigns courses a generic name to cover the variety
of course names throughout the state. All of the courses
shown for a CTL course name are equivalent courses at
the respective institution. For example, under the CTL
course name, American History 1 you can see that USI's
HIST 101 is equal to IU Bloomington's HIST-H105, American
History 1.
On the main
CTL page there is information on the middle
of the page to cover independent/private schools within Indiana. If
you need further help understanding the CTL, feel free to call the
CAP office for assistance at 812/228-5022.
