General Chemistry I
(4 semester hours)
A systematic study of the essential nomenclature, hypotheses, theories, and laws of chemistry necessary for chemistry majors and minors. Some of the topics presented in the course include stoichiometry, atomic structure, thermochemistry, solutions, crystal structure, and gas laws. Corequisite: MATH 111, MATH 115, or MATH 118 or consent of instructor (USI Core C3).
$ This course has been identified as a Dual
Credit Priority Liberal Arts course by the Indiana Commission for
Higher Education (CHE). Under
the authority granted to the Indiana CHE, the rate charged to
Indiana students for the identified Dual Credit Priority Liberal
Arts courses shall not exceed $25 per credit hour.
