COLLEGE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
Courses Offered
The chart below was created to help students and parents
understand the cost associated with College Achievement
Program (CAP) coursework and how it transfers to other public
Indiana institutions.
CAP offers over 40 courses in participating high schools.
As authorized by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education,
certain liberal arts and career/technical education courses have
been deemed priority courses. CAP tuition for Dual Credit Priority
courses is $25 per credit hour; tuition for all other CAP courses
remains $80 per credit hour (less than half USI's undergraduate
tuition rate). Students who qualify for the free/reduced lunch
program will receive a tuition waiver for CAP courses, if
eligibility
is indicated on the application and verified by the school district.
CAP courses can not only be used at USI but also have a high
rate of
transferability to other
institutions. About half of the USI
courses offered through CAP are
also part of the Indiana Core
Transfer Library (CTL). The CTL was crated to help families
determine how college credits transferamong Indiana public institutions, as well as some of the
independent colleges and universities. To

Students seeking to transfer their CAP credits out of state or to an
independent college not listed
on the CTL should always contact the prospective school to see how
the credit will be accepted before
submitting their CAP application to their high school instructor.
