CAR Fellowship


 

 

The Sponsored Research Office and Extended Services jointly announce the call for proposals for the Center for Applied Research Faculty Outreach and Engagement Summer 2010 Fellowship. 

Up to two $4,000 fellowships are available for projects that demonstrate a propensity to enhance faculty research while supporting economic development, community development, or quality of life improvement in southwestern Indiana (EGR 11).   Funding from the Applied Research Summer Fellowship program is designed to fund faculty applied research which could not be funded by the organization benefiting from this project. 

Examples of such projects might include:

  • Measuring the impact of a local or regional social program
    designing technology assists/aids for individuals with disabilities

  • A study of Hispanic or other underserved populations in southwest Indiana

  • Identification of SW Indiana business cluster opportunities and feasibility analyses

  • Chemical analysis methods for biodiesel made from various biomass

  • Market analysis for a new regional entrepreneurial opportunity

  • Environmental conservation, education and/or research programs.


The Center for Applied Research has up to two awards that will be made annually to USI faculty members who are selected to pursue a regional engagement project, focusing on a community-based applied research initiative.
