How the Center for Applied Research Can Help You:
The Center
is designed to
be an outreach function of the University helping businesses,
organizations, and nonprofits utilize the intellectual capabilities of the
university: faculty, students, staff, and resources. As the University has grown to
educate over 10,000 students per year, we have also amassed significant
intellectual resources in our PhD faculty, highly qualified instructors,
highly skilled staff, and
well educated students. In addition to providing qualified graduates to
employers, we believe we can make an even greater impact on the region by
engaging faculty, instructors, staff and students in the “real work” of region. 
Today’s organizations rarely have the luxury of having "in-house" expertise in all the work they do, particularly beyond their core competencies. The University is an excellent source for projects and research which are beyond existing capabilities. Our Colleges of Business, Science & Engineering, and Nursing & Health Professions have a wide faculty expertise to help. In addition, we find many companies just need “an extra pair of hands” to do important work. In this case, we can work with you to secure student interns and coops to help move your projects forward.
