OSHA TRAINING

Northern Illinois University, the Construction Safety Council, and the National Safety Council are partners and form the National Safety Education Center (NSEC). University of Southern Indiana Center for Human Resource Development is a host site authorized to provide approved Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) courses. While many organizations offer safety training programs, NSEC programs and training are authorized and approved by OSHA. Upon completion of NSEC courses hosted through NWTC, your achievement is recognized with Department of Labor Course Completion Certificates, Outreach Trainer Cards and/or Continuing Education Units (CEU’s).

Spring 2012 class

OSHA 503 Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers

This course is a valuable refresher for active trainers in the general industry outreach program. Trainers are required to take this course every four years to stay current with OSHA standards and safety initiatives, as well as Outreach Program changes. Participants have the opportunity to:

Learn about the latest OSHA general industry standards, policies, and regulations.
Analyze interpretation letters that affect general industry.
Improve training techniques.
Conduct and receive valuable feedback on their own training
Renew their outreach trainer card.

Participants who successfully complete the course are authorized to conduct and issue OSHA course completion cards for 10- and 30-hour general industry safety and health outreach courses.

Prerequisite—current general industry outreach trainer card (completion of OSHA Course #501 Trainer Course for General Industry Outreach Trainers).

Dates & Times: February 28-March 1, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
