The Sixth Annual Equity and Diversity Conference at the University of Southern Indiana will investigate the factors that enhance and inhibit the development of transformative curricula. Participants will be encouraged to consider how school and university curricula can empower educators from all disciplines and levels to focus on impacting student achievement and community needs through service learning. This conference will explore ways to use service learning to enhance students’: civic and democratic engagement; capacity for difference/change making; learning through disciplined reflection; comfort and skill in working with diverse groups; and sense of belonging in the community.
