BEGINNING  CONVERSATIONAL  CHINESE                                                             NO. LGN411
Take the first step toward being able to use the increasingly important Chinese language, whether for business or personal interest. Learn Mandarin Chinese by studying Pinyin, Chinese culture, and the essentials of grammar. By the end of the six two-hour sessions, students will be able to sound out all Chinese notated with Pinyin, understand Chinese culture, recognize some characters, and use basic phrases to introduce themselves, greet people, and convey requests. Add another language to your repertoire in this study of basic German vocabulary and expressions. Emphasis will be on basic conversational skills and phrases especially useful for travelers.
