BYLAWS
PARENTS & FAMILIES ASSOCIATION
University of Southern Indiana

Section 1.01. Name. The name of the organization shall be known as the University of Southern Indiana Parents & Families Association. (Hereinafter referred to as “Association” or “USI Parents & Families Association.”) The USI Parents & Families Association is jointly sponsored by the University’s Office of Alumni & Volunteer Services, Office of Student Development Programs, and the USI Foundation.

Section 1.02. Purposes. The USI Parents & Families Association is designed to strengthen the relationship between parents, family members, guardians of USI students, and the University of Southern Indiana (USI).The purposes of the USI Parents & Families Association are:

To improve communication and cooperation between families and the University.
To serve as a resource group for parents and families.
To support the University’s mission and goals.
To recognize parents and families as a valuable resource group and invite them to contribute to the welfare of USI.

Section 1.03. Membership. Membership shall be open to past and present parents, family members, and guardians of USI students. Members who contribute at least $25 annually (individual or per couple) to the Parents & Families Association fund in the USI Foundation are “active members” and will be recognized as such. Only Active Members shall be eligible to serve on the Parents & Families Council or hold office.
