2007-2008 Financial Aid Calendar

2007-2008 Academic Year and Summer - Starts Fall, 2007

January 1 - March 1, 2007
File the 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the period of fall 2007 through summer 2008 – Indiana uses a March 10 FAFSA receipt date for all state programs.

April 15, 2007
Preliminary Financial Assistance Notification letter mailed to student's mailing (permanent) address.  Stafford Loans must be accepted on MyUSI before they will appear on fall tuition bill. 

Late April – Early May, 2007
State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana sends edit letter to selected students to request corrections or additional information. 

May 1, 2007
Submit 2007-2008 USI Financial Aid Data Form to USI.        

June 1, 2007
Confirm your Stafford Loan amount using MyUSI and submit 2007-2008 academic year (fall/spring) Parent PLUS Loan Request Form to USI.  Students and parents choosing alternative or private loans should submit 2007-2008 applications by this date. 

Late June - Early July, 2007
State grant notifications are mailed to Indiana students by State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana.  Check the name of the college listed on your notification. 

June 30 - July 15, 2007
Official Financial Aid Notifications mailed to mailing (permanent) address - Stafford Loans must be accepted on MyUSI before they will appear on fall tuition bill.

July 17, 2007
Federal Work Study awards are canceled for students who have not returned their resume to USI Student Financial Assistance office.

August 10, 2007
Notice of Fall 2007 USI tuition/fee bill are emailed to students' usieagles.org address.

August 21-24, 2007
On the Tuesday before classes begin, financial aid advances for books (book loans) for registered financial aid recipients are available in the University Center.  Financial aid must cover both payment of fees and repayment of the book loan.  A valid Eagle Access card is required. Financial aid advances for books will continue in the Orr Center after classes begin and end on Friday, August 31, the end of the first week the semester.

August 24, 2007
Stafford Loan counseling/entrance interview for first-time Stafford Loan borrowers should be completed on the Web by this date.

September 10, 2007
Start of Fall week three - financial aid credit beyond tuition/fees is refunded by check mailed to the local address.

December 10, 2007 
Notice of Spring 2008 USI tuition/fee bill are emailed to students' usieagles.org address.
