American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division Foundation’s College Scholarship Program Since 1999, the American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division Foundation has proudly supported young cancer survivors with scholarships as they pursue ambitious career goals. To date, nearly 350 first-time scholarships and approximately 300 renewal scholarships have been awarded to students in the Great Lakes area. Scholarships may be renewable up to three additional years, and are available annually, based on academic performance, and community service and leadership, among other criteria. Ford Scholarship (limited to recent high school seniors with an identified learning disability who are pursuing an undergraduate degree as a new college freshman) Army Emergency Relief Spouse and Children Scholarship Program It is Army Emergency Relief’s (AER) objective to ensure all Army families, active, retired and survivor, are made aware of the scholarship opportunities available for the spouse and dependent children of Soldiers. Major General James Ursano Scholarship Fund for Dependent Children – Eligible applicants must be dependent children, stepchildren or legally adopted children of Army Soldiers on active duty, retired or deceased while in active duty or retired status. The children of Grey Area Reservists/National Guard are eligible as retired members. Overseas Spouse Education Assistance Program – An Eligible applicant must be a spouse of a Soldier on active duty assigned in Europe, Korea, Japan or Okinawa. The applicant must physically reside with Soldier at the assigned location. This award is only available for students who are working toward their first undergraduate degree. Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program – An Eligible applicant must be a spouse of an active or retired Army Soldier or the applicant must be a widow(er) of an active or retired Army Soldier. The applicant must live in the United States. Stateside applicants must be full time students working toward their first undergraduate degree.
