Meg Dettwiler Memorial Scholarship

The Meg Dettwiler Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to deserving women in the community who have a desire to continue their education. Meg Dettwiler was a dedicated Junior League and community volunteer.

Amount: $1,000

Eligibility:

·         Applicants must be women in the tri-state area who are or will be attending an institution of higher learning to obtain a two or four-year degree who are not currently traditional high school seniors

·         Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be accepted and enrolled in an institute of higher learning by the date funds are scheduled to be disbursed

Deadline: Received by March 1

Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund

In keeping with its long-standing tradition of serving the community, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is pleased to offer a unique, national $100,000 scholarship program: a fund just for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago, and who are now seeking a college degree.

Amount: 50 women will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship

Eligibility:

·         Applicants must be women currently residing in the U.S.

·         Applicants must be women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 1998

·         Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school

·         Applicants must be attending the full 2008-2009 academic year and receiving a degree no earlier than May 2009

·         Applicants must have at least two semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete an undergraduate degree as of the beginning of the 2007 fall academic term
