Financial Aid News

  • After the first week of the term, be sure to meet with a financial aid counselor before dropping coursework. Your aid could be impacted by dropping a course or courses.

  • The Office of Student Financial Assistance begins disbursing funds to student's billing accounts beginning the middle of the second week of each semester (after the 100% refund period) for students with complete and processed financial aid. Financial aid (including student loans) is disbursed one semester at a time based on the hours students are attending at the time of each disbursement. For more information about disbursements visit

  • The 2014-2015 FAFSA is now available online at Although the state deadline has passed, if you have not filed your FAFSA you may still file it to be considered for federal aid (this includes the Pell Grant, Federal Work Study, Direct Student Loans and Direct Parent Loans). USI's Federal School Code is 001808.
