Parents who are first-time Federal Direct PLUS Loan borrowers under the Federal Direct Loan Program are required to complete and sign a Direct PLUS Loan master promissory note (MPN) before their loan proceeds can be released.
Parents who have received our letter instructing them to sign their Direct PLUS Loan promissory note electronically can do so at the link below. Parent borrowers must use their own PIN to sign the MPN. A spouse's PIN may not be used. Visit the PIN Site at www.pin.ed.gov/ to update or obtain a PIN.
If you have any questions as you complete the promissory note please contact your student financial assistance counselor at 812/464-1767 or 800/467-1965.
If you are not a first-time parent borrower but you have not had a Direct Loan in the past 5 years, you will be required to sign a new Direct Loan MPN. If your prior Direct Loan is paid in full, you will be required to sign a new MPN. The new MPN is good for up to 10 years.
