Students who are first-time Direct Loan borrowers under the Direct Loan Program are required to complete and sign a Direct Loan master promissory note (MPN) before their loan proceeds can be released.
You will need your U.S. Department of Education PIN (FAFSA PIN) to sign your MPN. As of December 26, 2004, PIN requirements have changed. If you have not updated your information already, please first visit the PIN Site at www.pin.ed.gov/.
If you have received our letter instructing you to complete your master promissory note, you may do so by clicking on the link below. If you have any questions as you complete the master promissory note please contact your student financial assistance counselor at 812/464-1767 or 800/467-1965.
If you are not a first-time borrower but you have not had a Direct Loan in the past 5 years, you will be required to sign a new Direct Loan MPN. If your prior Direct Loan is paid in full, you will be required to sign a new MPN. The new MPN is good for up to 10 years.
