PLUS Loan Online Request
Forms
William D. Ford Direct Loan Program
|
The parent of a dependent student may request a Parent PLUS Loan to cover that portion of the student's financial aid budget (estimated cost of attendance) that is not covered by other financial aid. You may complete the application on-line (see directions below) or you may request a paper Parent PLUS Loan Request form from our office. Students for whom parents are borrowing must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA establishes student eligibility for federal student aid. However, students do not have to show financial need for a Parent PLUS Loan.
The parent
borrower's credit check will take place when we send our PLUS Loan
certification to the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program. If the
parent borrower is fairly certain that a PLUS Loan will be denied, a
pre-approval form should be submitted instead of the regular
PLUS Loan request. This pre-approval will not show up as a loan on
the borrower's credit report unless credit approval is obtained and
a the PLUS Loan is actually requested.
To start the
on-line PLUS Loan Request process, the parent borrower can click on
"Parent PLUS Loan Request" below. If you have questions about this
process, contact your student financial assistance counselor at
812/464-1767 or 800/467-1965. Admission
