BAKER General Purpose: The Baker performs a variety of duties in the preparation of various food products. Essential (Primary) Functions: The primary responsibility of the Baker is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Other responsibilities include following recipes and/or product directions for preparing breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, pies, cakes, cookies, pastries and other desserts. These recipes/directions include measuring ingredients -- using a variety of measuring devices, molding ingredients into loaves/shapes, placing products into correctly prepared pans, regulating the drafts and temperatures of the ovens, placing items in ovens, removing them when they are baked and applying appropriate toppings. In addition, the Baker may be expected to decorate cakes, cookies, pastries and other desserts, check production and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and to requisition supplies and equipment, as needed. The Baker may also be expected to lift and move baking supplies and equipment weighing 30 pounds or more. General Purpose: The Banquet Support Person performs a variety of duties for banquet services. In addition, the Banquet Support Person may need to assist wait staff on any of their assigned duties such as serving food and clearing tables. General Purpose: The Cashier performs a variety of duties for customer services pertaining to payment for services. Essential (Primary) Functions: The primary responsibility of the Cashier is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Other responsibilities include operating a cash register (or equivalent), receiving payments of cash, checks and charges from customers or employees for goods or services, making change and issuing receipts or tickets to customers. The Cashier records amounts received and may be expected to total and summarize funds received, endorse checks, prepare bank deposits and verify cash at the beginning of a shift. The Cashier must understand and follow the Sodexho cash handling policies and procedures. Additionally, the Cashier may assist in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operate equipment with peripheral electronic data processing. The Cashier may also be required to prepare for service before the meal and clean the dining room after the meal (wiping tables, vacuuming the floor, cleaning chairs, and otherwise, ensuring the acceptable appearance of the dining area). Food preparation will include operating a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving and storing. The Food Prep Helper may also be required to lift and distribute supplies and equipment, assist others in the preparation of foods, and properly store food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage. Manual carts, electronic carts and motorized vans may be used in the delivery of food orders and equipment. The Food Prep Helper may be required to inspect workstations for compliance with service standards, keep records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed. General Purpose: The Utility Worker performs a variety of duties to maintain kitchen work areas in clean, orderly condition. Essential (Primary) Functions: The primary responsibility of the Utility Worker is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Other responsibilities include the sweeping and mopping of floors, washing work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks and removing trash and garbage to designated areas. The Utility Worker scrapes food from dirty dishes, pots and pans and washes them by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine, and sets the dials for correct wash cycles. In addition, the Utility Worker transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or use of a hand truck. The Utility Worker is required to clean equipment using specific chemicals to insure sanitary standards, polish silver and use a machine (as well as hand buffing) to scrub floors, buff floors using heavy equipment and steam clean trash cans. The Utility Worker may load and unload supply trucks, set-up banquet tables and help with banquet food preparation, as well as provide direction and training to other Utility Workers. The Utility Worker may perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor and must follow all Sodexho and regulatory agency policies. General Purpose: The Wait Staff serves food and beverages to customers at dining establishments. Essential (Primary) Functions: The primary responsibility of the Wait Staff is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Other responsibilities include seating customers, presenting them with menus, making appropriate meal and wine suggestions and answering questions regarding food preparation. After writing a food check or memorizing the order, the Wait Staff relays the order to the kitchen for preparation. When the preparation is complete, the Wait Staff serves the food to the customer, using proper rules of etiquette. The serving of a meal may require carving meat, fish or poultry, serving salads, and preparing flaming dishes and desserts. In addition, the Wait Staff may total bills and may be asked to respond to complaints regarding food or service. The Wait Staff may accept payment, refer customers to the cashier or operate the cash register. The Wait Staff may carry and distribute supplies and equipment, assist others in the preparation of foods and properly store food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage. The Wait Staff is expected to clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and follow all Sodexho, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
