Resident Hall Dining Plans 2009-2010 Academic Year
Red Eagle Plan, White Eagle Plan, and Blue Eagle Plan
A predetermined number of meals per week are attached to these plans that can be used for breakfast, dinner and weekend brunches in The Loft. Evening meals can be used in The Loft for the buffet starting at 4:30pm or at Burger King, Sub Connection, Pete's Arena and Eagle Express Convenience Store for a select menu of combo meals posted in each operation beginning at 3:00pm. Be sure to check the hours of operation for the retail options. The meal plans have a specific amount of dining dollars, a flexible declining balance system, that may be used to purchase breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks at any food service facility on campus.
When your dining dollars run low, you can purchase munch money, which is a type of declining balance that can be added to your card at any time. As an added bonus, 5% is added to your account when you purchase a minimum of $50.00 worth of munch money in the foodservice office. If you purchase $150.00 worth, your funds will be enriched by 6%, $350.00 will get you an additional 7%, $400.00 will get you an additional 8%, and $550.00 will get you an additional 10% add value.
Students who choose either the Red, White, or Blue Meal plan for the fall semester will be automatically signed up for the same meal plan for the spring semester and their account will be charged for the additional semester's meal plan. Students who do not live in a residence hall and wish to come off of the meal plan must come to the food service office before the beginning of the spring semester.
The Red Eagle, White Eagle, and Blue Eagle Plans may be purchased on the USI Housing Food Service Contract. Munch Money must be purchased in the Dining Services Office.
Red Eagle Plan
1,625 per semester
Nine (9) meals per week-buffet breakfast or dinner throughout the week plus brunch and dinner on the weekends and $530 Dining Dollars on your Eagle Access Card to be used at any food service location. To add more money to your declining balance, see Food Services.
White Eagle Plan
$1,625 per semester
Eight (8) buffet meals per week - buffet breakfast, dinner or weekend brunch - and $570 Dining Dollars per semester on your Eagle Access Card to be used at any food service location. To add more money to your declining balance, see Food Services.
Blue Eagle Plan
$1,625 per semester
Eight (8) buffet meals per week- buffet breakfast, dinner or weekend brunch - and $680 Dining Dollars per semester on your Eagle Access Card to be used at any food service location. To add more money to your declining balance, see Food Services.
Breakfast, dinner and brunch participants must present a valid Eagle Access card or pay the posted casual meal rate to be admitted into The Loft. Dining privileges may not be transferred to another person. If it is discovered that a person is using a "borrowed" card from a participant, the card will be seized by Dining Services.
You can enjoy "all you care to eat" meals in The Loft. However, no uneaten food may be removed from the premises. The dining week operates on a Friday-to-Thursday schedule. Friday morning signals a new meal week.
When dining in retail operations or The Loft for lunch, Munch Money and Dining Dollars participants present the Eagle Access card to the cashier after making food selections. It will be scanned, the account updated, and ending balance displayed on the receipt. If your purchase exceeds your available balance, the difference may be paid in cash. Munch Money and Dining Dollars are non-refundable. If you don't use all your Munch Money or Dining Dollars during the first semester, just carry them over to the second semester. However, any unused Munch Money or Dining Dollars left at the end of the second semester will be forfeited.
It is important to report lost or stolen Eagle Access cards as soon as possible. Call the Eagle Access card office 812/465-1124. If the Eagle Access office is closed, call Safety and Security at 812/464-1845.
