Alumni support USI at prestigious level

Each year USI graduates enter the workforce and represent the University around the country and around the world. Many also choose to give back to the institution that provided them with a first-class education and life-enriching experiences. |
Each year the number of alumni joining the President’s Associates grows as more USI graduates realize the value of giving back. Support of the University increases opportunities for current students and maintains the value of the degrees of our alumni.
One such alumnus is Rachel Polazzi. Like many other alumni and current students, she chose USI because of its smaller class sizes and scholarship opportunities. After graduating in 2001 with a degree in nursing, Rachel stayed connected with the University and began giving back to USI.
“I have always felt indebted to the University for the wonderful experiences and education that I obtained while enrolled as a student. Therefore, I wanted to give back to the University so that future students in similar situations may benefit and be enriched in their college experiences.”
She encourages other USI alumni to join her at the President’s Associates level. “In today’s economy it is not only difficult for students to afford a college education, but it is also difficult for the colleges to continue to fund current and future endeavors. Professionally, I feel that it is a duty for alumni to continue to promote and improve the reputation of their college.”
Rachel is currently a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) in Delray Beach, Florida.
A reception honoring USI alumni who give at this prestigious level will be held on May 21, 2009 at the Evansville Country Club. Any graduate wishing to make a gift should contact the Foundation office at 812/464-1918 or give online. Those with annual gifts totaling $1,000 by May 21 will be invited to this year’s reception.
