March 28, 2003

Minutes
The minutes of the February 27 meeting were approved without correction by unanimous consent.
C. Graduate Faculty
1. Dr. White moved that Ms. Judy Kuric be approved for affiliate status with the graduate faculty; Ms. Hermes seconded. Motion passed.
2. Dr. Philleo moved that Dr. Gary Stiler be approved for associate status with the graduate faculty; Ms. Hermes seconded. Motion passed.
D. Graduate Program
Modification
Dr. Raymond moved that a modification of the Master of Public Administration be approved; Ms. Hermes seconded. Dr. Raymond explained that the MPA program will comprise 36 hours of coursework including a 21 hour core and 15 hours of elective courses that students can finish in 2 or 3 years by following set schedules of courses. Motion passed.
E. Graduate Course
Petitions
1. Dr. Harrel introduced the two MSOT course petitions by explaining that she had contacted Dr. Luebben, who was unable to be present, and the implementation date should be changed on both petitions from spring 2003 to fall 2003. Dr. Wade moved that OT 521-Occupational Therapy Educational Strategies, 3 hours, be approved; Dr. Raske seconded. It was noted that the course has no 400 counterpart and should therefore be numbered as 621. Discussion ensued. Dr. Wade amended his motion to include the stipulation that the numbering of the course be changed to 621; Dr. Raske amended her second. Council members suggested Dr. Harrel discuss the numbering of the course with Dr. Luebben. The motion passed.
2. Dr. Wade moved that OT 591-Specialized Clinical Reasoning Strategies, 3 hours, be approved with the stipulation that the numbering of the course be changed to 691; Dr. Raske seconded. Discussion ensued. Council members suggested Dr. Harrel discuss the numbering of the course with Dr. Luebben. The motion passed.
E. Information Items
Dr. Harrel stated that the April Graduate Council meeting
will be held on Friday, April 25 at
Dr. Raymond stated that an MPA brochure is being printed and should be completed by the end of July.
