Anti-Discrimination Policy
Hazing is defined as any action taken or any situation created whether on
or off chapter premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort,
embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Hazing is forbidden and will not be
tolerated. All USI fraternities and sororities have strict policies against
hazing.
Membership education is a time for new members to learn the history,
principles, ideals, and expectations associated with their organization.
During this time new members will attend weekly meetings to learn about the
chapter, participate in current issue workshops, attend leadership retreats
and activities to build friendships, participate in community service events,
and attend academic enrichment programs. New Member Education programs in no
form should interfere with academic mission of the institution.
The University of Southern Indiana requires student organizations not to
discriminate on the basis of age, color, creed, handicap, national origin,
race, religion, or sexual orientation. Greek organizations strive to be
composed of diverse members from a variety of backgrounds.
