Admission Information

Applicants are considered for entrance in the fall semester of each year. All application materials must be received by the Program no later that July 1st.

The following bolded items must be forwarded to the MHA Program:

  1. A completed USI Master of Health Administration Program Application for Admission form and supporting materials. Supporting materials include curriculum vitae, an essay, and three references. Refer to the application form for detailed information on these items.

  2. Completion, prior to entering the MHA Program, of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

  3. Achievement of a minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4-point scale. Results of post-graduate academic studies may also be considered at the discretion of the MHA Admissions Committee.

  4. Recent academic exposure to the fundamental principles of economics, statistics, and accounting is desired prior to matriculation.

  5. Completion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). For USI to receive your GRE or GMAT score you need to designate the MHA program director as the recipient of scores to be forwarded by the testing service. The school code for the GRE is 1335 and the school code for the GMAT is 1438.

  6. Work experience, ideally a minimum of two years in the health care field.

  7. Three references, two work-related and one personal (click here to download the Applicant Reference form).

  8. Students from Non-English Speaking Countries Only: Satisfactory TOEFL score - 550 for non-computerized tests and 213 for computerized tests.

  1. One official transcript from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended. Transcripts and other educational records are official if the issuing institution sends them directly to the office of Graduate Studies. Failure to submit official transcripts from every institution will delay admission. Coursework from one institution reported as transfer credit on another school's transcript does not constitute an official transcript.

  2. A $25.00 application fee made out to the University of Southern Indiana.

  3. A completed USI Application for Admission to Graduate Studies. The Graduate Studies Application for Admission form may also be completed online by clicking here or you can download a copy to complete and send in (PDF file or a Word document file).

  4. Periodically, the student will receive postcard reminders regarding application completeness. This will continue until all materials have been received. The student's application will not be considered complete until all required application materials have been received by the office of Graduate Studies and the Master of Health Administration program.
