Master of Health Administration

About the Program

The College of Nursing and Health Professions offers a Master of Health Administration (MHA) advanced degree online with 3-day on-campus intensives which occur twice a year. Students can complete the program in six semesters over a two-year period.

The MHA program prepares students for a wide variety of leadership positions in the fast-growing public and private health care sectors, including careers as executive and middle-level managers, planners, policy analysts, and consultants. Typical health care opportunities include, but are not limited to, positions in: hospitals, long term care facilities, physician practices, health insurance, pharmaceutical companies, consulting firms, government, and local or regional public health agencies.

Program Mission

The mission of the MHA program at the University of Southern Indiana is to educate students for leadership roles in health care. Graduates will use evidence-based decision making to assure integrity and organizational success. As leaders, they will strive to provide high quality, cost effective, and accessible health care in their communities.

The USI Health Administration Program will prepare students to meet the challenges of health care leadership, emphasizing community, ethics and adaptation to change.
