The School of Nursing at USI understands that RN-MSN students will have many questions regarding the program and each individual has a different situation. We have compiled the following list of the top 10 FAQ’s to assist our current and prospective students. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact the Student Advising Center.

Request all transcripts be sent to the Office of Admission. Step Two: Complete the application reequirements for the RN-MSN program. To review the application requirements for admission, click here.
How can I find out what courses to take?
While we are more than happy to review transcripts and provide an unofficial evaluation of your courses, official evaluation is completed by the Office of the Registrar upon acceptance to the University. The Plan of Study Worksheet that will be provided to you upon Acceptance will give you an exact layout of the courses you'll needed to complete your RN-MSN program.
How much does the program cost?
Regardless of your geographical location in the United States, the cost per credit hour is considered in-state undergraduate rates. The 2011-2012 undergraduate cost per credit hour is $193.07 and graduate cost per credit hours is $280.21. We are unable to provide an exact estimate for the completion of the program as each student’s requirements to complete the BSN-MSN varies.
How long will it take to get my degree?
The amount of time required to complete the degree will depend upon the number of courses you successfully complete each semester. If you are working full time, one or two courses a semester may be an appropriate course load. If you are working part time, more than two courses each semester may be feasible. The total number of credits you are transferring and your schedule requirements will also determine the length of time needed to complete the degree.
The University of Southern Indiana is a traditional college in that our courses are 16 weeks in the fall and spring semesters with ten week summer courses available.
All courses are offered through Distance Education modalities, specifically through virtual classroom software called Blackboard®. To watch a tutorial video about Blackboard® at USI visit mms://hpwms.usi.edu/2010tech/blackboard_helpsession_12_2010.wmv
Each instructor has the liberty of designing the course through streamed lectures, readings, coursework, and group work; however, all online courses taught at USI utilize Blackboard® to deliver the course content.
