Nursing and Health Professions Educator Conference
October 18, 2017

 Online Submission Deadline:  May 7, 2017

This conference focuses on innovative teaching strategies for health professionals in academic and healthcare settings to provide the attendee with a variety of session options focusing on innovative instructional methodology and current issues in education. This conference will include paper and poster presentations as well as foster networking among professionals who are interested in promoting quality educational practices.

 

The learning outcome of the conference is for attendees to implement effective teaching strategies in health professional educational environments.

General Submission Guidelines

Two types of abstracts are invited for submission.

 

  1. Abstracts of Research.

Research is the systematic collection of information to generate new knowledge in educating healthcare professionals in the academic and clinical setting.

 

  1. Abstracts of Educational Practice

Educational practice abstracts related to innovative teaching strategies in projects, in educating healthcare professionals in the academic and clinical setting.

All Oral and Poster Presenters:

Abstracts may be submitted for either poster or oral presentation or both.

Each type of abstract has a unique abstract submission form. Please choose the correct form when submitting your abstract.

Abstracts will be reviewed and selected through a blind review process.

The first author will be notified of acceptance by email in June 2017. Correspondence will only be sent to the first author listed.

All abstracts must be submitted by email.

Abstracts must be in English and free of grammatical errors.

All author Conflict of Interest Forms are to be submitted in the same word document with the abstract.                                                                                                       

The abstract text must contain no more than 300 words. Subheadings are not included in the word count.

All oral and poster presenters must register for the conference.

All presenters are responsible for their own travel, lodging, meals, and conference registration fees.

Oral Presentations Only:

An LED projector and lap top computer will be provided for all oral presentations.

Oral presentations will be 20 minutes.

Only completed projects will be accepted for oral presentation.

Poster Presentations Only:

Poster presenters are responsible for providing their poster. Posters may be displayed one of two ways:

  1. Poster attached to a self-standing, tri-fold to be displayed on a standard 6 ft. table. The tri-fold must be no more than 3 ft wide when fully opened.
  2. Hang from the wall with clips provided by USI.

Include the following subheadings:

  • Background/significance of problem
  • Research question/hypothesis
  • Research method
  • Findings
  • Discussion of results
  • Implications for education/educators
