Trained guides lead walking tours daily during tour season. These tours include an orientation film at the Atheneum/Visitors Center, Atheneum exhibits, special programming (if available) and access into numerous historic sites. The typical tour lasts two to three hours.

The cost is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children seven to seventeen, and children under age six are free of charge. Please be sure and ask about discounts for AAA members, members of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, students, or for visitors over the age of 50. There is also a family ticket available for $25.00.

The Atheneum Tour, which includes the orientation film and the exhibits, is available for $3.00 per person. This tour is available throughout the day during tour season.

Ask about Historic New Harmony special programming. Special programming, if available, is included with the guided walking tours or can be purchased separately for $5.00 per person.

Information for Groups
Historic New Harmony offers a variety of tours and will gladly customize a tour for a group’s interest and schedule. Tours relating to the basic history of New Harmony, architecture, early community living, Victorian life, and geology are just a few of the topics that can be interpreted by our trained staff. Guided walking tours are available, as well as “step-on” or tour bus/van-based guided tours. For “step-on” tours, a trained interpreter will join guests on their tour bus, which can either stop at a number of historic sites or merely tour past them.

Groups interested in visiting Historic New Harmony should contact Sara Brown at 800-231-2168 or ssbrown1@usi.edu. Discounted group rates are available.
