Historic New Harmony offers an array of educational opportunities and tours for students.

Heritage Artisans Week

Heritage Artisans Week, held during the third week of April, is a unique and exciting opportunity for students to experience daily life in New Harmony, circa 1814–1860.

Challenge Programs

Pioneer Challenge Program

The Pioneer Challenge Program is designed for third graders. The program culminates with a field trip to New Harmony. Hands-on demonstrations include open hearth cooking, rope making, candle dipping and more.

Victorian Challenge Program

The Victorian Challenge Program is designed for fourth graders. The program culminates with a field trip to New Harmony. Hands-on demonstrations include Victorian crafts and manners.

Every year, thousands of students visit New Harmony with their classmates.

As part of its mission, Historic New Harmony is dedicated to the education of students of all ages. Our group programs focusing on early community living fulfill not only this mission but meet several state education standards. We can also customize a field trip to focus on your particular objectives. Please contact us for more information.
