2010 Homecoming Court Candidate Information

Each year student leaders are chosen to represent the University of Southern Indiana as members of the Homecoming Court. These individuals are nominated by staff, faculty, and student organizations. Court members are selected by a judging panel consisting of staff, faculty, and support staff representatives, based on their ability to exemplify the qualities of leadership, spirit, integrity, and achievement through their contributions and involvement at USI.

Requirements
Undergraduates who will have completed 64 credit hours by the end of the fall 2009 semester, maintaining a 2.6 cumulative grade point average are eligible to apply for court. No members of the 2010 Activities Programming Board Homecoming Committee may apply. Members of this year’s court may not apply to be on future Homecoming Courts.

Selection
Six men and six women will be selected as members of the 2009 Homecoming Court. Alternates will be chosen but not announced unless a Court member cannot fulfill his or her obligations. The twelve Homecoming Court members will be selected based on the average scores given to each application from a panel of judges.  The judging panel consists of staff, faculty, and support staff of the University of Southern Indiana.

From the members of the Homecoming Court, a King and Queen will be selected. The King and Queen will be chosen through a combination of an interview with the panel of judges (50%), student vote (30%), and attendance at Homecoming functions sponsored by Activities Programming Board and Student Development Programs (20%). In the event of a tie, the highest grade point average will determine the results.

Homecoming Court interviews will be held in the University Suite on January 26, 2010 and January 27, 2010.  The student vote will occur during Homecoming Week, between Monday, February 1 and Friday, February 5.  The King and Queen will be announced during the Homecoming festivities on Saturday, February 6, 2010.
