Honors Cord Ceremony 2011-2012 

Ashley Hilton- received the President’s Medal, the highest honor presented to a graduate in the Class of 2013. She will graduate summa cum laude.

Jennifer Sharp- was named RA of the year.

Marian Yoder- received Psi Chi National Honor Society Service Award.

Jared Marsh- received the J. Maxwell Davis Scholarship.

Mandy Lupfer- joined the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was accepted into the National Residence Hall Honorary.

Nehal Ninad- received the USI Provost Top Student Leader Award.

Adam Ferrari- received the Chemical Rubber Company Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award.

Ashley Merkel- received the Radiology Student Alumni Scholarship & the USI Bookstore Scholarship.

Laura Gibson- received the Pott College of Science & Engineering Award for Outstanding Achievement in Pre-Veterinary for the 3rd year in a row.

Whitney Baker- received the Science Teaching Award.

Molly Hahn- received the USI Provost Top Student Leader Award.

Sarah Krampe- received the USI Provost Top Student Leader Award.

Shannon Beard- received the USI Social Work Department Outstanding BSW Senior Award. She was elected President of the USI Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society, Mu Delta Chapter. She will graduate with the magna cum laude distinction.

Caylin Blockley- received the USI Greek Life's Schonberger Lifetime Achievement Award and the USI All Campus Student Achievement Award.

Kayla McCarty- was named the 2013 Broadcasters' Education Association National Radio Air Personality of the Year. She also placed 3rd in the 2013 Indiana Association of School Broadcasters Radio Air Personality Contest, 2nd place in radio Copywriting, and 2nd place in TV copywriting. She received the Indiana Broadcasters' Association Annual Scholarship, the Bill Sands Communications Scholarship, and the Alpha Omega Psi Memorial Scholarship.

Adrienne Curtis-  presented at the 2011 Mid-America Undergraduate Conference.  Made the 2011 All-GLVC team in Cross-Country.

Amanda Privott- joined the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society.

Cassie Eckerle- received the Who's Who Among College Students award.  Recently traveled to South Africa and applied for the Endeavor Award for undergraduate research.

Ashley Hilton- received the Phi Alpha National Honor's Society for Social Work and was then nominated and elected Secretary for the 2012-2013 school year.

Christina Wilson- received the Carithers scholarship for Art.

Emily Rastl- received the Academic Achievement Award in Computer Science.

Austin Uebelhor- received the Who's Who Among College Students award, Academic Achievement Award in Spanish, and was NRHH inductee.

Laura Draper- received for the second year in a row the Pre-Veterinary award.

Jenna Rueger-  was in an Art Exhibition at Oasis Lounge and had photography and poetry published in USI's Fishhook.

Megan Lutz- received magna cum laude and became a member of the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society.  Recently took a job at the Good Samaritan Home in Evansville, IN.

Elizabeth Thomas- received the J. Robert Schoenenberger Merit Award in Business Education.

Catherine Carver- received the Captain Henry Vanderburgh Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution scholarship, the Bookstore scholarship, the Alumni Association scholarship, the Global Engagement Initiative New Lanark, Scotland Internship, Student of the Year from Student Support Services, High Academic Achievement award from Student Support Services.

Gabrielle Thompson- received the French Merit Award for Outstanding Performance and accepted into National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Caleb Starr- received the Chemical Rubber Company Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award.

Robert Bauer- received the Epi-Hab Centers Scholarship, Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship, Exchange Program Scholarship and was on the Honors List Fall 2011- Spring 2012.

Amanda Lupfer- received the Trio/Student Support Services's "Most Involved Junior" award and was on the Dean's List.

Shannon Beard- received the Rice Kello Memorial Scholarship, Phi Alpha Honors Society-USI Mu Delta Chapter, nominated and elected Vice President of Mu Delta Chapter of Phi Alpha Honor Society, was on the University Honors List, received the Adult Learner Scholarship for academic year 2012-2013, and Fall 2011-Present: Treasurer of BSW Club.

Sarah Esche- received the USI Alumni Association Scholarship and was on the Dean's list for Fall 2011- Spring 2012.

Kamila Miller- Health Services Academic Achievement Award.

Ekaterina Wassel- Recipient of Cobb-Brittain Scholarship, two consecutive years recipient of Indiana Higher Education Scholarship, recipient of Bamberger Memorial Scholarship, recipient of Renner Non-Traditional Student Scholarship, USI President's Medal Finalist, Kappa Delta Pi Member, Xi Mu chapter, USI Honors Scholar, and recipient of Magna Cum Laude Scholastic Honors.

Emily Wasson- secretary of the College of Republicans.

Kristen Schmeisser- Walter F. Sill Memorial Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Geology, 2012 Walter F. Sill Geology Field Camp Award, 2012 Student membership into the Indiana Academy of Science, 2012 ConocoPhillips Indiana University Field Camp Scholarship, 2012 Indiana University National Association for Geoscience Teachers (NAGT)/Association of Women Geoscientists (AWG) Field Study Scholarship.

Alicen Schwartz- received the Ladner Knox County Laurel Scholarship, Chemistry Department Service Award, and the Paul Grimes Memorial Scholarship.

Brett Williams- received the Edward F. Harrison Scholarship, O. John Logsdon Scholarship, and the Outstanding Achievement Award in Physical Chemistry.

 

Nikki Reece- joined Beta Alpha Psi, Nominated President Elect of Accounting Club, received Roxy Mitchell Baas Memorial Scholarship.

 

Jamie Catt- was the co-treasurer for the USI Association of Nursing Students and was accepted into St. Mary's Summer Student Nurse Extern Program for Summer 2012.
