level lobby of the Education Center (ED0114) at 4:30 pm

Honors Student Assembly
Meeting
Thursday, October 1st – SC 2242, 5:00pm
Guest speaker: Peggy F.
Harrel, Ph.D., Director, Graduate Studies and Sponsored Research
Topic: Planning for Graduate School
All Honors students are members of the Honors Student Assembly.
The Assembly serves to bring Honors students together to build
community and plan events. It
also serves as a link between Honors students, the Program Director, and
the Honors Faculty Council.
The Assembly offers leadership opportunities and a chance to get
involved in the implementation of the USI Honors Program.
At this first meeting, we will discuss and plan events and
activities for the coming academic year.
All Honors students will receive a free Honors canvas bag and
food will be served.
Wednesday, October 7 - The Honors Office (ED0114), 9:00am to 4:00pm
Half of the Honors Program suite is dedicated student space.
Students are welcome to use the space to study, read or work in
groups. This is a great
opportunity to familiarize yourself with the Honors Office and the
facilities that are available to you.
There will be doughnuts and coffee served in the morning and
drinks and sandwiches in the afternoon.
There will also be a raffle with a chance to win a microwave cart
and other prizes.
Honors Halloween Party &
Dance
Thursday, October 29 - Eicher Barn, 8:00pm
One of the traditions of the Honors Program is the annual Halloween Party.
The Halloween Party is always a great way to come out and
socialize with other Honors students and have fun dressing up.
We plan to have a bonfire by Eicher Barn and a DJ.
It will be a great night of costumes, food, games, and dancing!
Honors
Student Assembly & Community Service Meeting
Tuesday, November 17 –
HP 1079, 5:00pm

We will be packaging gifts for children in need all around the
world. You can pick up your
Honors t-shirt and canvas bag if you haven’t done so already.
Food will be served.
