Dr. Antonina Bambina came to the University of Southern Indiana in 2008 as Director of the Honors Program. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Queens College, City University of New York, and master’s and doctoral degrees from Columbia University in New York City. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice Studies. Her research interests include social network analysis, Internet studies, and medical sociology.
Before moving to Evansville, Dr. Bambina lived in Reading, England, for five years, where she completed her dissertation and a related book. The book, Online Social Support: The Interplay of Social Networks and Computer-Mediated Communication, was published by Cambria Press in July 2007. It was nominated in 2008 for the American Sociological Association Section on Communication and Information Technologies (CITASA) Book Award.
