Housing and Residence Life employs over 100 students in various jobs such as desk assistants, night clerks, resident assistants, summer resident assistants and summer conference assistants.

A desk assistant (DA) provides customer service at the Housing and Residence Life front desk.
A night clerk is on duty between the hours of midnight and 3am in the residence halls. This person serves as a point of contact for staff and students throughout the night.
A conference assistant (CA) provides customer service during the summer months to the camps and conferences hosted at USI.
A resident assistant (RA) is assigned to an apartment building or residence hall community to provide residents programming opportunities, leadership development, and referrals to other campus offices when appropriate. The RA also is responsible for working the front desk, doing rounds within the community and helping students to address any issues that may arise.
