Housing and Residence Life is searching for residents assistants for the 2014-15 academic year.
Resident Assistants (RAs) are an integral part of the Department of Housing and Residence Life. They are paraprofessional staff having direct and constant student contact. RAs are assigned to staff areas of approximately 32-90 students in the apartments and in the residence halls to staff a wing of a floor with approximately 35 residents. Their primary responsibility is to act as facilitators for the residence life community and to enhance the social, educational, intellectual, and cultural development of each individual. The RA articulates to students the core values, philosophy and policies of Housing and Residence Life and the University and represents the Department of Housing and Residence Life as a role model in all facets of university life.
The six basic roles of the RA are as follows: Community Facilitator, Referral Agent, Programmer, Team Member, Administrator, and Conduct Facilitator.
