Medical Assistant, College of Nursing and Health Professions - N09039N3
The College of Nursing and Health Professions is seeking a part time certified medical assistant to assist nurse practitioners with physical exams and health screenings at the Vanderburgh County Correctional Facilities. This position is funded through a five year federal grant to continue an established collaborative arrangement with the Vanderburgh County Correctional Facilities. The medical assistant obtains demographic information from patients, prepares exam rooms, measures vital signs, prepares laboratory specimens for transport, and other duties as assigned. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and current certification as a medical assistant. Must possess effective interpersonal skills, service orientation and communication skills. Also requires excellent organizational and time management skills and professionalism appropriate to a correctional health environment. Accuracy and basic computer skills also required. Must also possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with legal and health regulations.
