For over 25 years, Historic Southern Indiana has worked hard to successfully meet our mission of identifying, preserving, enhancing, and promoting the special resources of the region. We achieve this through special programs and projects that benefit local communities, teachers, students, heritage tourism professionals, and travelers.
Historic Southern Indiana intends to persist in doing good work and we look forward to new endeavors that will continue to help us promote and preserve the distinctive heritage of our region. Your membership support will help us achieve these goals.

Historic Southern Indiana holds an annual membership meeting within our 26 county region each fall. Since 2004 we have accepted proposals from communities and organizations to hold the meeting and make local arrangements. HSI provides up to $1,000 to the organizing group to cover the meeting costs (i.e. facility rental, food, etc.). This is an opportunity for HSI to share our accomplishments from the past year with members and constituents and for the host community to promote itself and its current projects. Beginning in 2005, the Frank and Judy O'Bannon Heritage Enrichment Award has been presented at the annual membership meeting.
