Introduction
We are pleased to present the proceedings of the March 2-4, 1998 workshop, The Fine Art of Interpretation. This is the fourth year that materials from the session have been reproduced. We know they will be a continuing resource for conference participants and other readers.
The proceedings are the product of the seventh annual workshop on interpretation development sponsored collaboratively by Historic Southern Indiana, an outreach program of the University of Southern Indiana, and the Indiana State Museum and State Historic Sites System. Begun in 1992, these spring workshops have sought to strengthen our appreciation for and understanding of our heritage and to enhance the quality of services offered visitors in our special places.
Special thanks to the workshop organizers, chaired by Rachel Perry. Their names, affiliations and titles are provided in the proceedings.
