Historic Southern Indiana

The Lawrence County Courthouse was completed in 1930 for a cost of $390,000.00. When the building committee, composed of the County Commissioners and the Citizens Committee, were authorized to formulate a building program they chose to add to the old building in a way that the north wall of the old building would remain. The new portion forms an "U" shaped structure around the building.
