Francis Costigan House

The Francis Costigan House was built between 1846-1849. It was designed and built by Francis Costigan, the same architect of the Lanier Mansion, for his family. Due to the scarcity and expence of land, the home was designed in a narrow structure for a 22-foot wide lot. It was modeled after homes in the architect's native Baltimore. Of special note is the distinctive step ladder style stairway.
