This is the Federal style home of Judge Jeremiah Sullivan (1794-1870), a member of the State Legislature from Jefferson County. He also was a judge of the supreme Court of Indian from 1836-1846. A criminal court was created for Jefferson County and he was appointed judge. The house was built by Jeremiah Sullivan in 1818 and has been completely restored by Historic Madison Inc. The site also includes an early schoolroom, a bake oven, and a smoke-house.
