Constructed in 1867-1869 at a cost of $120,000.00. The Culbertson Manion is one of the finest examples of French Empire architectural style in the state of Indiana. It is a 25 room, 3 story mansion which has hand painted ceilings, carved staircase, marble fireplace, and period furnishings. William S. Culbertson was a dry goods merchant and philanthropist who invested much of his wealth in New Albany.
