Rising Sun Receives 2003 Community Legacy Award

Historic Southern Indiana presented the city of Rising Sun with the Community Legacy Award in a public ceremony held May 7 at the pavilion, Main & front Streets.

Among its many accomplishments, the town created a Vision Plan and developed "Arts as Economics" as its economic development theme.

As the recipient of the award, the city received a $1,000 cash award to support heritage-related projects and a plaque of achievement for public display.
