Intensive English Program

Admission to Academic Program

Conditional admission to USI will be granted for students whose academic or professional qualifications are very good but whose English language needs improvement.

Students may apply for undergraduate or graduate admission and IEP admission simultaneously.

Students will need to graduate from the IEP in order to be eligible to enroll in a major at USI. Acceptance in the academic program also depends on meeting the requirements set by each individual program due to the competitive nature of the programs at USI.

If an international student wants to apply to an academic program directly, a TOEFL (71) or IELTS (6) is required at admission. For more information about admission documents refer to the "admission requirements" tab.

Graduate students can apply as non-degree seeking, for IEP only, and can apply for a graduate program while attending English classes. Graduate students have to submit an ibtTOEFL (79) or IELTS (6) score for application purposes. Please check the requirements for each program.
