Program of the Year

Description of the Award
The Program of the Year award recognizes a program coordinated by a student organization that has had a significant impact on the University community. The program must have taken place between March 18, 2007 and March 3, 2008.

Eligibility criteria for 2008
- A student organization must be registered with the Office of Student Development Programs at the University of Southern Indiana to apply for this award. 
- The program must have occurred between March 18, 2007 and March 3, 2008 to be eligible for this award.

Applications - Available January 22, 2008 and due March 3, 2008
Organizations applying for the Program of the Year award should submit eight (8) copies of each of the following:
- A 3-4 page typed narrative that should address the following selection criteria:
    1. Goals
    - What was the program (provide a description of the program)?
    - What originated the idea for this program/practice?
    - Describe your organization’s goals and how the program helped to meet those goals.
    2. Planning and Preparation
    - Who was the intended target audience?
    - What were the intended outcomes of this program?
    - Explain any problems that had to be overcome and your responses to them.
    - List all campus resources that contributed to the success of the program.
    - Include the program’s budget and identify funding sources.
    3. Publicity and Promotion
    - Describe the publicity and promotion strategy used to reach your targeted audience.
    - Include pictures or examples of publicity mediums used (posters, flyers, e-mail, chalking, etc).
    4. Campus Support
    - Please provide two letters of support, one from a faculty member and one from a student. Each letter should elaborate on the value of the program.
    5. Evaluation
    - Was the program successful? In what ways was the program successful?
    - Based on the outcome of this program, will the program be offered again? If so, describe the most significant changes that will be made when the program is offered again.
    - Why is this program deserving of the title “Program of the Year”?

Recognition of Award
Organizations selected to receive the award will receive recognition at the Student Leadership Awards and Recognition program on April 16, 2008.
