Alan Lightman is a dual professor of science and humanities at MIT. Also a featured author in this year's Bonding Through Books selection, This I Believe, Lightman examines our society and explores how the relentless pace of modern life affects us and our concept of identity.
Alan Lightman will speak in Carter Hall in the University Center, on October 23, 2008 at 7 p.m. The Fall Lecture is open for anyone to attend.

Every fall the Office of Student
Development Programs, with assistance from the USI Foundation, sponsors the
Fall Lecture Series. The purpose of the Lecture Series is to bring
a speaker to campus that will be of interest to students and cause them
to challenge their beliefs.
