Before joining USI’s full-time faculty, Gibson was a reporter at WIKY-FM, a public relations specialist at Deaconess Hospital, a production manager at South Central Radio Group, an adjunct instructor at USI, and a freelance magazine writer.

She wrote and produced “Internationally Born, Indiana Raised,” a radio documentary about international adoption, which won a best documentary award from the Broadcast Education Association in 2008.

Gibson earned a bachelor of science in communications from the University of Southern Indiana and a master of arts in mass communication and media arts from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

She also plays keyboard and sings with the local band The Toddlers.
