Instructor of Journalism

John Blair earned his masters degree in journalism with a specialty in photojournalism from Ball State University in 1974. He taught journalism and photography at the University of Evansville and USI intermittently from 1974 to 1990.Blair was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for News Photography in 1979 and has received numerous other awards in journalism, photography and video production during his four-decade career as a freelance photojournalist. His clients have included Time, Newsweek, CBS News and the New York Times. Blair’s photos have been shown twice in the Evansville Museum of Arts and Science.

Blair also is recognized as the president of Valley Watch, Inc., a regional organization dedicated to “protecting the public health and environment of the lower Ohio River Valley.”
