Karen H. Bonnell is a professor of Communication. She received the Ph.D. in communication
from the University of Kentucky and the M.A. in communication from Western
Kentucky University. Her bachelor's degree is in management from USI. She
also holds an associate degree in communications technology from the University
of Kentucky Henderson Community College. Dr. Bonnell joined the faculty in
1990 after several years of professional experience with network affiliate
television stations. Dr. Bonnell's work as a videojournalist has been recognized
by national and state news associations. Her research interests include public
perceptions of media violence and mentoring in broadcast journalism.Email: kbonnell@usi.edu
