Assistant Professor of Advertising

Robert E. West is an assistant professor of advertising in the Department of Communications, teaching courses in advertising and speech. He joined the USI faculty in 1999 after teaching as an adjunct since 1996. He has taught in college since 1984. Prior to teaching, Dr. West was director of operations at WFIE-TV in Evansville, in charge of programming, production and promotion. He has a doctorate in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, an MBA from the University of Evansville and bachelor degrees from Western Kentucky and USI. He has served as president of the Advertising Club of Evansville as well as holding other offices in the organization. He is co-advisor for the USI Student Advertising Club, which is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation.
