Assistant Professor of Communication StudiesZach Henning is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies. He received his undergraduate degree in 2001 from Virginia Tech with a major in Communication Studies, an option in Public Relations, and a double minor in Political Science and Psychology. He received his Master’s degree from Radford University in Corporate Communication in 2003 and his doctorate from the University of Kentucky in Communication with a specialization in Interpersonal Communication in Applied Contexts and a cognate in Organizational Behavior (from the Management department) in 2007. Since 2002, he has developed and taught college courses in Persuasion, Public Speaking, Small Group Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Business & Professional Communication, Gender Communication, Organizational Communication, and Training & Development. Dr. Henning’s research interests include Interpersonal Communication in organizational and instructional contexts including Training & Development. Currently, his research is focusing on effective instructional strategies that lead to employee and student engagement to increase learning outcomes.
